The Stash Challenge

Since 2024, I have been hosting a challenge for makers to see how much of their yarn and fiber stash they use up in a year. At the stroke of midnight on the 1st of January, we start recording how many grams and yards we use up from our stash. Any yarn or fiber acquired prior to January 1st of that year counts as stash yarn for the challenge.

 I’ve developed a handy dandy spreadsheet for participants to log the number of grams and yards they’ve used from their stash. For fun, I collate this information and share the top 10 participants based on the number of grams and number of yards used; affectionately named the Heavy Weight Lifters and Long Distance runners. I also share how much of our stash yarn we’ve used collectively.
